Everyone says easy
What makes Vid HD easy

We built it from the start to let you focus on your friends and family—not making you try to figure out software.

Logitech® Vid™ HD was created specifically for clear, simple video calling. No strangers calling you. No smiley faces made of parentheses. Just real smiling faces.

It’s easy because:

  • It takes half the steps to set up than other major calling apps
  • You add a friend using their email address—not a screen name search
  • You make a video call simply by clicking on your friend’s picture
  • It was built to work with your webcam

  • Wants to see and hear family, friends or anyone else, even when they can’t be there in person
  • Appreciates a clean, intuitive way to talk, built specifically for video calling
  • Doesn’t want or need the extra features of more complicated software
  • Has a high-speed Internet connection
  • Don’t want to give up video or audio quality to get something easy to use

It’s all good
The webcams that work with Vid

Logitech Vid HD is free for anyone with any Logitech webcam—and any other manufacturer’s webcam—, whether that webcam is brand new, or one you’ve had for a while.

As Logitech®, we believe that we’ve got a webcam that’s perfect for you. But let’s say you have a webcam from someone else, or a webcam built into your laptop— – you can still use Vid.

You can even use Vid without a webcam at all— – if you’ve got a microphone or headset and don’t mind seeing your friends without being seen.

Our favorite webcams

Our hidden agenda – Why we created Vid™ HD

Even though we’re known for the quality of our webcams, we don’t rest on our reputation. So we’re still constantly working on the webcam experience—in video, in sound, and in usability.

But when we talked to people about what they liked—and didn’t like—about webcams, we saw the biggest opportunity wasn’t about the hardware, but the way people connected to one another with them.

So we made the way people made video calls easy—while still providing true-to-life video quality as good, if not better, than more complicated software.

We created Vid HD to make video calling better for you, from start to finish.

Compatibility with other networks

To keep things simple, Vid HD doesn’t currently connect with Windows Live Messenger™, AIM®, Yahoo! ® Messenger, or Skype™. But there’s nothing that would prevent you from using other IM and calling services in addition to Vid on the same computer.
