Drivers Get Unfair Advantage at Every Turn with Logitech's WingMan® Formula™ GP and Formula™ Force GP Racing Wheels

Two New Steering Wheels Set To Debut At E3

Los Angeles, CA (E3 — Booth #968) — May 11, 2000 -- Logitech (NASDAQ:LOGIY; Switzerland:LOGN, LOGZ), international market leader in human interface devices that define the way people link to information in business, at home and online, will be shipping the WingMan® Formula™ GP and Formula™ Force GP Racing Wheels in July. Available in retail outlets and at various Internet locations, including http://www.logitech.com, the WingMan Formula Force GP, with TouchSense™ force-feedback technology licensed from Immersion Corporation (NASDAQ: IMMR), will carry a suggested retail price of $99.95 (US). The WingMan Formula GP will carry a suggested retail price of $49.95 (US).

"Racing wheels have transformed themselves from a luxury to more of a necessity in the eye of dedicated PC ‘drivers,´" said Wolfgang Hausen, senior vice president and general manager of Logitech´s Control Devices Division. "By offering gamers two great solutions, including a force-feedback option, we´re giving those who consider racing wheels a ‘luxury´ two affordable alternatives, while giving those who consider them a ‘necessity´ the best choice and the assurance of Logitech quality."

WingMan Formula Force GP

The Logitech WingMan Formula Force GP, the new standard in USB force-feedback racing wheels, replaces the WingMan Formula Force with a similar feature set but at a significantly lower price. Force-feedback technology provides a heightened level of realism and interactivity in racing games by letting gamers feel the bumps on the road and the impact of hitting a wall or crashing without ever spending a dime on gas.

With a full-sized 10-inch wheel, the WingMan Formula Force GP offers an extremely realistic feel, comfortable rubber handgrips and precise steering control. Two wheel-mounted gear shifters let gamers keep their hands on the wheel while changing gears quickly, while four fully-programmable buttons make for simplicity in controlling the horn, lights and other car functions. For those who like to put the ‘pedal to the metal,´ the Formula Force GP offers realistic gas and brake pedals, a weighted pedals base and a non-slip textured floorboard. A dual clamping system holds the wheel base tight and secure — all that´s missing is the checkered flag at the finish line.

WingMan Formula GP

The Logitech WingMan Formula GP, a gameport-interfaced non-force feedback wheel, replaces the WingMan Formula with a similar feature set at a much lower price. It offers the same 10-inch wheel size and features stylish yellow rubber hand grips. It also includes two wheel-mounted shifters, four action buttons, a solid dual clamping system, and the same realistic gas and brake pedals as the WingMan Formula Force GP.

System Requirements

The WingMan Formula Force GP requires a PC with a Pentium 166 MHz or faster processor, 32 MB of RAM, 20 MB available hard disk space, a CD-ROM drive, an available USB port, and Windows 98 or 2000. Force feedback effects are available with games that provide support for standard force feedback.

The WingMan Formula GP requires a PC-compatible computer with an available gameport connector. Supported operating systems include DOS, Windows-based operating systems, and Linux.
