For nearly two decades, DJ/Producer Josh One has had a seamless ability to convey artistic originality through his music. His first record, Contemplation rose to the top of the European dance charts and went straight to #1 on the German charts. His remix of the Nappy Roots “Po Folks” song hit platinum. And his original music has been featured in television, movies, and commercials. 

In 2005, Josh One launched Boomnote Music, a production company/ label that has released records for Goapele, Blu, Ta’Raach, Uncle Imani, M80, Lili De La Mora, DJ Poet, Lateef The Truthspeaker, Beat Ventriloquists, Rosey, and Julie Walehwa.

His latest release is Play Remixed, a four-track set that features Goapele’s Break of Dawn single "Play," re-imagined by producers Josh One, Beat Ventriloquists and Substratum. Rolling Stone magazine has called Goapele the “spiritual love child of Sade and D'Angelo who can mix sweet soul vocals, jazz-funk instrumentation and hip-hop rhythms by underground Bay Area beatmasters."
