This month we feature music from the experimental sounds of Jihae along with the beautiful melodies of Blind Pilot. Jihae lives in New York while the members of Blind Pilot are from Portland and you can certainly hear the difference in the attitudes of the music. Jihae's sounds are as cool and untouchable as can be while Blind Pilot's phrasing feels like they are singing just for you.

There is something about the sound of the Blind Pilot tracks that make me think of school dances or of long drives or when a song can capture a time and space and define a moment. Their music makes me feel very young again - like high school but without the angst. They make me think of my cousin - who introduced their music to me - and about his time shaped by music and about how there are certain things that will just always be universal. About how there will always be a song that just works as that perfect soundtrack.

So until next month, take the time to think of your old memories tied up in music. Go and listen to those few songs that teleport you back. Call an old friend and share a song that is long overdue. And make a few new memories with these new songs for new times.
