Wow! What a program we have this month. But don't take my word for it - here is what Robert Plant (yes - _the_ Robert Plant) has to say about our featured band Low: “It's great music; it's always been in the house playing away beside Jerry Lee Lewis and Howlin' Wolf, you know.” And yes - he put his money where his mouth is and it paid off. Plant covered 2 of Low's songs in his most recent album Band of Joy - which is currently nominated for multiple Grammys.
Low’s new album, C’mon, is due out in April and while their last album dealt with the themes of war and protest, this album moves towards a different approach based on peace and common humanity. This is not an album to miss.
And as you all know, our program doesn’t only feature musical heavyweights - we also showcase new music from bands just breaking onto the popular consciousness. Best Coast has done that and so much more. 2010 saw them garnering critical acclaim with their new take on the old surf-music genre. They will be performing at every major festival this year. Don’t miss them when you get the chance to see them perform live.
So here’s to new and old - where music comes together - the Ultimate Ears Artist to Watch Program.
