July 29 Update: The last year of climate negotiations in the U.S. Congress has been a rollercoaster, particularly given the increasing urgency and threat posed by unchecked global warming.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

This week’s news that Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia has reached a tentative agreement with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is very encouraging. Analysis suggests that if passed, this bill, combined with Executive Action from President Biden, would cut U.S. emissions in half by 2030. This is in line with what science requires and what the U.S. committed to as part of the Paris Accords.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

This will be by far the largest investment in climate solutions in the country’s history.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

We call on Congress to swiftly pass this bill and as a result for the President to sign the bill\u00a0– take action before it is too late.<\/em><\/p>\n

Today, Logitech once again partnered with Ceres, a nonprofit organization working with capital market leaders to solve sustainability challenges, in an effort to call on U.S. congressional leaders to pass critical climate legislation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

By signing the letter to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Logitech\u2019s CEO Bracken Darrell joined with CEOs, Shane Grant, Danone North America; Chris M. Crane, Exelon; Chip Bergh, Levi Strauss & Co.; Patricia K. Poppe, PG&E; Ralph Izzo, PSEG; and Steve Rendle, VF Corporation urge legislators to pass ambitious federal climate and clean energy investments.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Bold climate leadership is needed across the public and private sector to tackle the accelerating climate crisis. While I am proud of the progress our company has made on climate action, it is going to take ambitious government action to reduce carbon emissions in the U.S. and across the globe. Right now, the U.S. has an opportunity to lead the world, both in confronting the climate crisis by setting smart climate policies and in building out the innovative industries and clean energy economy this existential challenge will require. We urge Congressional leaders to take action before it is too late.”\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
