How do you charge the Rugged Folio keyboard?
The keyboard is powered by your iPad using the Smart Connector. There is no need to charge the keyboard.
Does the Rugged Folio keyboard still work when not attached to my iPad?
The Rugged Folio keyboard uses the Smart Connector — a physical connection to your iPad. When your iPad is removed from the Rugged Folio, the protective keyboard case will disconnect.
What to do if my iPad does not recognize the Rugged Folio keyboard
If your iPad does not recognize the Rugged Folio protective keyboard case, or if nothing happens when you type, try the following: Check if your iPad is securely placed inside the Rugged Folio case and the connection between the case and keyboard is firm. Clean the Smart Connectors. Update the iPadOS on your iPad to the latest version.
Are the keys on the Rugged Folio backlit / illuminated?
The heavy-duty iPad keyboard case is not backlit. It’s a spill-proof, dust-proof keyboard
Is it possible to turn off the Rugged Folio keyboard if you wish to use the Crayon or Apple Pencil for drawing?
The keyboard is not removable, however, it can be flipped around to the back of your iPad for sketching/writing/tablet use. When you do that, it automatically disables the physical keyboard. If you press the keys while it’s in the back, it doesn’t do anything because it’s disabled.
