US REQUIREMENTS

OUR DIVERSE SUPPLIER REQUIREMENTS

Must be for-profit, located within the US or its territories, and 51% owned, controlled and operated by one or more members of these groups.

HOW TO GET CERTIFIED

US CERTIFICATION AGENCIES

For certification, please visit your city, county or state offices of small business administration or third party organizations such as those listed below:

Minority Business Enterprise

Must be at least 51% owned by one or more US citizens who are: African American, Hispanic American, Native American, Asian-Pacific American or Asian-Indian American, and whose management and daily business operations are controlled by one or more of these owners.

WOMEN-OWNED BUSINESSES

Must be at least 51% owned, controlled and operated by a woman or women. Certification is provided by the following organizations:

LGBTQ-OWNED BUSINESSES

Must be at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a LGBTQ business owner. Certification is provided by the following organization:

VETERAN OWNED (VOB) & SERVICED-DISABLED VETERAN OWNED BUSINESSES (SDVOB)

A for-profit enterprise presently located in the United States or it’s trust territories, and is at least 51% owned by individuals who have performed active service in one of the United States armed services, and were honorably discharged. The term “service disabled” means that such disability was incurred or aggravated in line of duty in the active military, naval or air-service. Individual(s) must be involved in the day-to-day management of the business. Verification is provided by the following organizations:

SMALL DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS PROGRAM

Must be certified as disadvantaged by the Small Business Administration.

DISABLED-OWNED BUSINESS

This organization empowers businesses to achieve disability inclusion and equality.

INTERNATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

DIVERSE BUSINESS ENTERPRISES (DBE) IN NON-US TERRITORIES

Ethnic minorities and/or indiginous people outside of the United States or its trust territories are defined by each region or country based on their respective laws and regulations. Businesses must be 51% owned, controlled, and operated by such individuals. In the case of a publicly owned business, at least 51% of the stock must be owned by one or more such individuals.

AUSTRALIA

DBEs are Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, people with disabilities, and women.

CANADA

DBEs are visible minorities, defined as persons that are non-white and non-Caucasian. Visible minority classifications include: Chinese, South Asian, Black, West Asian, Filipino, South East Asian, Latin American, Japanese, Korean. According to the Government of Canada, Aboriginal peoples include First Nations, Metis and Inuit. Other groups of DBE include people with disabilities and women.

CHINA

DBEs are Chinese citizens that belong to one of the following 55 ethnic minority groups: Zhuang, Manchu, Mongolian, Hui, Tibetan, Uygur, Miao, Yi, Bouyei, Korean, Dong, Yao, Bai, Tujia, Hani, Kazak, Dai, Li, Lisu, Va, Lahu, Shui, Dongxiang, Naxi, Jingpo, Kirgiz, Tu, Daur, Mulao, Qiang, Salar, Maonan, Gelo, Xibe, Gaoshan, Blang, Achang, Pumi, Tajik, Nu, Uzbek, Russian, Ewenki, De’ang, Bonan, Yugur, Jing, Jino, Tatar, Dulong, Oroquen, Hezhe, Lhoba, Moinba, She. Other groups are people with disabilities and women.

UK

DBEs are UK citizens whose ethnicity or origin fall under the following: Asian / Asian British (Indian / Pakistani / Bangladeshi / Chinese / other Asian) Black African, Black Caribbean, Black British, Mixed / Multiple Ethnic Group, Arabs, other ethnic groups, people with disability and women.

SOUTH AFRICA

DBE are South African Citizens whose ethnicity fall under the following - black, coloured or Indian.  They must demonstrate at least 51% ownership, managed and controlled by persons of that group.  Additionally, the highest titled position in the business (i.e. Managing Director or Member, CEO, Chairman of the Board etc.) must be held by a black, coloured or Indian person. The business must be headquartered in South Africa and be compliant with the statutory requirements of South Africa.

WOMAN-OWNED BUSINESS IN NON US TERRITORIES

Must be at least  51% owned, controlled and operated by a woman or women.  Certification is provided by the following organization(s):

WEConnect International services the following region and countries: Middle East, Nigeria, South Africa, Australia, Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Switzerland,  Turkey, United Kingdom, Argentina, Brazil, Central America, Chile, Columbia, Ecuador , Mexico and Peru.
