Growing up, I was always immersed in the world of video games thanks to my dad. Funny enough, the first game I ever played was World of Warcraft (in second grade!) which probably isn’t very typical for my generation. Then my best friend and I started bringing our laptops over to each other’s houses and would sit side by side playing Minecraft or The Sims 4 on our playdates. So of course, working as an intern at a major gaming company was a dream come true.
During my time as a Global Communications Intern in gaming, I had the chance to create elements that would help unveil our newest products all around the world for Logitech G PLAY 2026. From tech specs and simple product descriptions to key messaging that will appeal to our community of gamers, I helped shape how Logitech G’s future products would find a place in gaming and tech culture. How insane! And, the cherry on top was that I got to experiment with exciting new products before they publicly release, including keyboards, which have always been my favorite because I can customize them to my heart’s content.
The new Logitech G-Keycaps brought my keyboard obsession from the pandemic back out of hiding. Being able to customize layouts and play around with different switches at work was mind-blowing. Honestly, I’d catch myself thinking: “How is this actually my job?”
Uncovering What PLAY Means to Me
Part of why I loved interning at Logitech G is the philosophy of PLAY at the core of the brand. At the end of the day, we weren’t working high-stakes, life-or-death jobs. We make trinkets and gadgets for people to enjoy while playing video games. And we want them to have as much fun as possible.
The culture at Logitech G is one where everyone is all about fun and extremely dedicated to the passion of play. We don’t take ourselves too seriously because we want our gear to reflect the pure joy that went into creating it. If we didn’t allow ourselves room to play and experiment, we couldn’t create the best innovations and new designs possible.
The saying “the people truly make the place” has never felt truer than during my internship. Whether it’s finding a random, adorable sticker slapped onto my laptop or being surprised with a new sweet treat every day, this team is more like a close group of friends, rather than just colleagues.
Playful Gear for Everyone
You probably already know what the mainstage event Logitech G PLAY is, but I like to think of it as a colorful celebration of our new products for the year. For the 2026 edition, we have a new fierce A50 X in Mars Red, an expansion of the G3 Series in vibrant shades of lilac, the iconic G502 X PLUS mice in new colorways, and for customization lovers like me, the G-Keycaps featuring a rainbow of new colors and styles to experiment with. Not only do these products look good, but they will make you feel good when you match them up with your style.
Customization & Expression Everywhere
Let me tell you more about a couple of my favorites. Out of the box, the G316 X in lilac features retro-inspired orange accents. But if you’re not an orange person, like me, the beauty of G-Keycaps is how effortlessly you can swap them out to match your vibe.
I used the Cloud Collection caps to replace my orange accents, and the side by side difference between the stock look and my custom aesthetic is night and day.
The Forest Set caps are easily one of my favorites. The tiny tree dial instantly reminds me of my favorite cozy games like Minecraft, Animal Crossing, and Stardew Valley. It’s the ultimate way to bring a piece of your game onto your setup.
I had so much fun customizing my desk setup at work, and it made me realize just how special it is to make a space truly your own. But, working at Logitech G was much more than trying out new products, it also took me places I had never been before.
Intern and the City
My main assignment this summer was helping bring a Logitech G PLAY preview event for press and creators to New York City. With the main North American flagship event set for Venice Beach, LA, our goal was to bring the magic of Logitech G PLAY to the East Coast as a special sneak peek.
Working with the comms team, I spent months planning the details. However, the absolute highlight of my entire internship was flying to NYC and helping work the event in real time. Stepping into a live press event as an intern was mind-blowing. It gave me a realistic look at behind-the-scenes event production, but more than that, it was genuinely rewarding to see all our hard work pay off. Seeing the venue come together exactly as we envisioned was a moment where I could feel truly proud of myself professionally.
Beyond the event itself, one of my favorite memories happened hours after the event ended. Despite being completely exhausted from a full day on our feet, the team still went out together to celebrate. The collective relief of pulling off a successful event gave us all a second wind, and I never felt closer to the team than in that moment. We weren’t just coworkers who had done an amazing event together; we were now family.
Looking back, this summer was so much more than an internship. It was a full-circle moment that reconnected me to my lifelong love for gaming. From my early days playing World of Warcraft with my dad to helping showcase gear in NYC, I’m walking away with unforgettable memories, newfound professional confidence, and a team that I’ll never forget.
