POWERED BY LORAWAN

The Kerlink gateway connects to Spot sensors via the secure LoRaWAN protocol, ensuring end-to-end encryption, and is separate from your WiFi network. This enables it to be placed outside your corporate network and securely transmit all sensor data to the Sync platform for monitoring and management.

FAQs

How many Gateways do I need per site?

This Kerlink LoRaWAN gateway can connect sensors across a large distance; however, variables like objects, other devices, and building materials can affect transmission, so we typically recommend testing one or two gateways per floor to start, and leveraging Sync to check coverage. Learn more here.

How many sensors can I connect per gateway?

The gateway can connect hundreds of sensors; it’s more about the distance of LoRaWAN signal transmission than the number of connected devices.

Can I use any LoRaWAN gateway with Logitech Spot?

No, you are only able to use this specific LoRaWAN gateway made by Kerlink with Logitech Spot, as it includes custom configurations to work with Logitech Sync. You also need to make sure to purchase the right gateway for your region for the right sensor, as LoRa frequencies differ by country or region.

Where do I install the gateway and how do I mount it?

Choose a central location, like a server room or somewhere in the core of the building. You can simply place the gateway on a shelf, but for more secure mounting, you can mount it to a table or wall. For more installation details and signal strength tips, see here.

How do I monitor and configure sensors via the LoRaWAN gateway connection?

You can see and configure gateways and sensors directly in Logitech Sync. See here for more details.

How do I know the connection is secure?

LoRaWAN provides robust end-to-end security through two layers of AES-128 encryption, safeguarding data from the sensor to your application server. The gateway acts as a secure pass-through, transmitting encrypted packets without holding the decryption keys. This design ensures your data remains private and protected from tampering at all times.
