Notice on the Authenticity and Moderation of Product Reviews:
● Authenticity Verification: We want to ensure that our product reviews are based on genuine customer experiences. Therefore, we label reviews that are based on an actual purchase with the notice "Verified Purchaser."These reviews come from customers who have actually purchased the product from us (or a partner) and subsequently received an email invitation to review the product. Reviews without this notice may also come from real customers, but without proof of the actual purchase through the email invitation process. Furthermore, the verification of an actual purchase via the email invitation process cannot guarantee that the reviewing customer has actually used the product and that their customer experience is therefore authentic.
● Moderation and Guidelines: Every submitted review undergoes a verification process before it is published. We automatically filter out offensive or rule-violating content and have reviews additionally checked by trained moderators if they do not pass the initial moderation criteria. This ensures that contributions meet our user guidelines (located at https://www.bazaarvoice.com/legal/authenticity-policy/) and are on-topic. We do not make substantive changes to reviews—every approved review appears in the customer's original wording. We ask for your understanding that we must reject or remove reviews if they contain, for example, vulgar language, personal data, promotional content, or illegal statements, or if it is obvious that they are fake reviews. Positive and negative experience reports are published equally, as long as they comply with the guidelines.
● Transparency Across All Reviews: The full spectrum of customer opinions should be visible. Therefore, reviews are generally displayed chronologically, so the most recent experiences are at the top. We treat all feedback equally. If an average rating ("star average") is displayed, it is calculated from all published individual reviews for the product at any given time.
● Incentivized Reviews: When we invite customers to review products as part of product tests, sweepstakes, or loyalty programs, it may be that the author has received compensation for their review (such as a free test product or a voucher). We explicitly label such cases, for example, with a notice like "Received an incentive for this review" or "This review was collected as part of a promotion." This allows you to immediately recognize when a review was submitted in exchange for an incentive. We assure you that testers, just like all other customers, are expected to report their experiences independently and honestly; no substantive requirements or influence are imposed.
● Origin of Reviews: The vast majority of reviews are submitted directly by our customers here on the website. In some cases, we use reviews from third-party sources—such as influenster.com. If a product review originated on another platform, we indicate this with a notice of origin. We do not verify whether these reviews are based on an actual purchase. However, these reviews undergo our verification process as set out above (“Moderation and Guidelines”).
● AI Summaries: For a better overview, automatically generated summaries of key topic areas and central statements from customer feedback or reviews may be displayed. These AI-based summaries summarize common statements and review trends without altering the original wording of individual reviews. They serve as a guide but do not replace reading the individual reviews.
