In every sector, video collaboration is enabling new ways of serving the public, and the federal government is no exception. In addition, increased adoption of video conferencing is helping agencies to integrate remote work and telework into their strategic workforce plans to help attract, recruit and retain the best possible workforce and improve the agency’s overall mission and work.

Modern, Secure Video Conferencing for Government

When adopting modern video collaboration technologies, departments and agencies are seeking tools that are not only easy to use, deploy, and manage, but that are designed with security as a top priority. With increased focus on security, being able to verify TAA and NDAA compliance for GSA Schedules, IDIQ contracts, or DoD contracts is becoming increasingly important.

To help combat security threats and enable agencies to collaborate more effectively, Logitech has expanded its portfolio of TAA/ NDAA compliant video collaboration solutions.

On top of security, supply chain challenges are delaying projects and putting agency budgets in jeopardy.  For federal agencies seeking to finalize purchases and meet budget deadlines, Logitech’s in-stock, TAA/NDAA compliant solutions offer innovative alternatives.

Let’s take a closer look at these regulations and compliance requirements.

What is TAA?

The Trade Agreements Act of 1979 (TAA), as amended, 19 U.S.C. § 2501 et seq., requires the federal government to procure only goods that are “domestic end products,” or “designated country end products,” unless an exception applies. The TAA generally defines a “designated country” as a country that the United States has a free trade agreement (FTA) with or that the World Trade Organization (WTO) designates as a least developed country.

What are TAA Compliant Products?

TAA compliant products are those that are manufactured or "substantially transformed" in the United States or in a TAA designated country with which the U.S. maintains a trade agreement and regards as a reliable or acceptable procurement source. To be considered TAA compliant, a product must meet certain “substantial transformation” tests. The country of origin for a TAA compliant product is determined by the last substantial transformation the product undergoes before it is exported to the United States.

What is NDAA?

The John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2019, Pub. L. 115-232, is a US law that governs certain policies and expenditures of the US government. Section 889 of the NDAA prohibits the US government from procuring, on or after August 13, 2020, certain equipment or services from the specified entities and their subsidiaries listed in the statute. Fortunately, Logitech has solutions that meet these requirements.
