Logitech® Easy-Switch setup: Control devices across PCs

What is Logitech Easy-Switch?

Logitech Easy-Switch is proprietary technology from Logitech that allows you to quickly switch between multiple devices. You can connect your Logitech Easy-Switch keyboard and mouse to your desktop computer, laptop, and tablet, and use the Easy-Switch buttons to quickly switch from one device to the next. Easy-Switch enables you to connect to up to three devices using a single mouse or keyboard.

For example, you can quickly switch devices with the MK850 keyboard by pressing one of the Easy-Switch buttons. When you need to work on your primary device again, press the first Easy-Switch button to switch back.

To pair a Easy-Switch keyboard and mouse with your devices, you’ll need to use a Bluetooth® connection or Logitech Unifying receivers. As long as you have a compatible keyboard and mouse, Logitech Easy-Switch setup is simple.

What devices are compatible with Easy-Switch?

How to set up Easy-Switch on Logitech devices

Here’s how to set up Easy-Switch on Logitech devices:

1. Press and hold the Easy-Switch button for three second

Press and hold one of the three numbered buttons on your keyboard or mouse for three seconds. The button you use to pair your device via Easy-Switch is also the button you’ll use to switch to that device, so keep that in mind when pairing multiple devices.

2. Connect the device using Bluetooth®, or a Bolt receiver or Unifying receiver

Now that your keyboard or mouse is searching for a device to pair with, you can navigate to System Settings > Bluetooth® & other devices to see a list of available Bluetooth® devices. Select the mouse or keyboard you want to pair to your device, and you’re good to go.

If you’re using a Logitech Bolt receiver or Unifying receiver to connect to your devices, the connection should happen automatically after you press and hold the Easy-Switch button. If your device doesn’t connect, try disconnecting and reconnecting the receiver. Then, repeat the Logitech Easy-Switch setup process.

3. Connect additional devices

After you’ve connected one device using Logitech Easy-Switch, you can repeat the process to pair up to two additional devices. Press a different Easy-Switch button on your mouse or keyboard, and then pair it with another device using Bluetooth® or the Unifying receiver.

Troubleshooting common Easy-Switch issues

If you're experiencing issues with Logitech Easy-Switch, here are some  solutions to try:

  • Easy-Switch device not detected. Check the device's power and replace the batteries if necessary. Ensure Bluetooth® is enabled or the Unifying receiver is connected before entering pairing mode. Disconnect and reconnect the Unifying receiver if it doesn’t connect automatically.
  • Pairing fails. Remove old pairings for the Logitech device from your computer’s Bluetooth® settings. Restart the device and computer. Ensure software is up to date and try a different USB port if pairing problems persist.
  • Easy-Switch button does nothing. Make sure you press and hold the button for at least three seconds to enter pairing mode. Check if your function (Fn) key is locked and preventing you from entering pairing mode.
